The Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> placed veteran defenceman Matt Dumba on waivers Friday.<\/p>\n

The move comes after the Penguins added Brett Kulak<\/a> as part of their return in a trade\u00a0for Tristan Jarry<\/a> from the Edmonton Oilers<\/a>, along with Stuart Skinner<\/a> and a second-round pick. <\/p>\n

In a corresponding move, defenseman Matt Dumba has been designated non-roster for the purpose of being placed on waivers at 2:00 PM. https:\/\/t.co\/MLnTV9ZFgd<\/a><\/p>\n

Dumba has one goal and three points in 11 games with the Penguins this season. He is a pending unrestricted free agent, carrying a cap hit of $3.75 million.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old blueliner spent last season with the Dallas Stars<\/a>, posting one goal and 10 points in 63 games. <\/p>\n

Dallas traded Dumba and a second-round pick to the Penguins this past summer in exchange for Vladislav Kolyachonok<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Selected seventh overall by the Minnesota Wild<\/a> in the 2012 draft, Dumba has 85 goals and 261 points in 748 career games.<\/p>\n

Kulak, 31, has two assists in 31 games this season. He is also a pending UFA, carrying a cap hit of $2.75 million this season.<\/p>\n

Acquired by Edmonton from the\u00a0Montreal Canadiens<\/a>\u00a0at the 2022 trade deadline, Kulak has been a key piece on the Oilers blueline in each of their runs to the Stanley Cup Final the past two years.<\/p>\n
