ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Three men have been arrested and charged with homicide in connection with a deadly shooting last year in Allentown.<\/p>\n
The victim was 22-year-old Najeer Lane, whose brother Parris Lane was also killed in a shooting in the city. Both of their pictures are still hanging on the walls of their mother Shalon Buskirk’s home. The man who shot Parris in 2017, Joshwynn Garcia, is currently serving more than a decade behind bars. Now that three men are charged with Najeer’s death, we asked her how she felt.<\/p>\n
“I’m just tired of it. I’m just so mentally and emotionally drained,” said Buskirk.<\/p>\n
Tired of worrying about her six remaining children, and tired of only having pictures, like the one she wears around her neck, to remember her sons. She said something needs to change in Allentown to keep promising young men from dying.<\/p>\n
“These kids are lost. Some of them are broken. They don’t have any resources, and we need to change that. The city needs to change that. These kids need to have things that are equipped from age 15 and on,” said Buskirk.<\/p>\n
She’s also asking parents to do more, because she said no one wants to be in her position.<\/p>\n
“You’ve got to be heavily involved in your children’s lives. You have to,” said Buskirk.<\/p>\n
The three men now accused of killing her son Najeer are 24-year-old Xavier Grenon, 20-year-old Legious Minder Jr., and 23-year-old Frederick Marks. All of them are charged with homicide, along with conspiracy to commit homicide, attempt to commit homicide, and aggravated assault. Buskirk said she plans to be at every one of their court hearings.<\/p>\n
“The two people that I want the most you can never give back to me. Right now, I just want justice for Najeer,” said Buskirk.<\/p>\n
