If you\u2019re trying to get home for the holidays<\/a> in either of these cities in Pennsylvania<\/a>, you might be presented to one of the biggest dampers of the season\u2026<\/p>\n

Betway Insider released a report <\/a>on the North American cities that are expected to get some of the worst traffic this Christmas. Philadelphia ranked ninth overall and Pittsburgh, 10th.<\/p>\n

Betway Insider researchers managed to figure out these rankings by first gathering congestion data from TomTom<\/a>. They then analyzed each of the cities included on metrics like \u201cAverage congestion level\u201d and \u201cNegative online sentiment in the last 30 days towards \u2018traffic.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The top three cities that are expected to get the worst traffic on Christmas this year were thus found to be: New Haven, Connecticut, in third; Chicago, Illinois, in second; and New York, New York, in first. <\/p>\n

\u201cPerhaps unsurprisingly, New York City ranked as the city facing the worst traffic this December, with a total [congestion] score of 82.61 [out of 100],\u201d the report elaborates. \u201cNew Yorkers face the longest travel time per 10 km at 31 minutes, six seconds, and they have the slowest average speed at 19.3 km\/h, too.\u201d<\/p>\n

The study adds: \u201cAdditionally, negative online sentiment towards traffic stood at 57 percent, and The Big Apple was one of the snowier American cities in our study, too, with an average 4.9 inches of snowfall in December.\u201d<\/p>\n

AAA recently stated<\/a> that this year\u2019s holiday travel should set a new record. As such, drivers are urged to prioritize safety, and to stay vigilant on the busy roads ahead. <\/p>\n
