Motorists in Northampton County <\/a>should prepare for lane restrictions and traffic delays as PennDOT<\/a> plans extensive road maintenance across multiple municipalities from Monday, Dec. 15 through Friday, Dec. 19.<\/p>\n

PennDOT maintenance forces will conduct crack sealing operations on several major roadways during daytime hours. Broadway in Bethlehem between Route 378 and Fiot Avenue will see lane restrictions with flagging on Dec. 15 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Apple Butter Road and Lower Saucon Road between Pembrooke Road and Route 412 will have similar restrictions on Dec. 16 and Dec. 17.<\/p>\n

Additional crack sealing work is scheduled for Island Park Road and 25th Street in Lower Saucon, Williams and Palmer townships on Dec. 18, and South 25th Street in Palmer Township between Northampton Street and Freemansburg Avenue on Dec. 19. Lehigh Drive in Lehigh Township will experience lane restrictions throughout the week from Dec. 15 through Dec. 19 between Riverview Drive and Blue Mountain Drive.<\/p>\n

Bridge inspection crews will work on Minsi Trail Bridge in Bethlehem. The southbound lane will be restricted Dec. 15-16, while the northbound lane will face restrictions Dec. 17-18, with work taking place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.<\/p>\n

Pothole patching operations will affect Airport Road in East Allen Township on Dec. 15, Monocacy Drive in Moore Township on Dec. 16-17, and Nor-Bath Boulevard in East Allen Township on Dec. 18-19. All pothole patching work will include lane restrictions with flagging from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

Several locations will see work without traffic restrictions. These include Main Street in Stockertown Borough between Old Easton Road and Hillside Avenue on Dec. 17-18, Route 512 in Wind Gap Borough between Mack Road and Sullivan Trail on Dec. 19, and multiple roads in Lower Mount Bethel Township including South Delaware Drive, Belvidere Road and Mount Pleasant Road throughout the week.<\/p>\n

Two longer-term projects will continue during this period. A local permittee will conduct core boring work on Main Street in Palmer Township between Van Buren Road and Carson Court from Dec. 15-19, with restrictions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. UGI gas main work on Greenwood Avenue in Palmer Township between William Penn Highway and Charlotte Avenue, which began Dec. 11, will continue through Jan. 16, 2026, with lane restrictions from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n

Rain may cause delays for most projects except the core boring work on Main Street and the gas main work on Greenwood Avenue.<\/p>\n

Motorists can check road conditions by visiting www.511PA.com<\/a>, which offers free 24-hour access to traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
