Former President Joe Biden<\/a> was seen wearing a Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> cap at their game against the Las Vegas<\/a> Raiders on Sunday – albeit one that brings back unhappy memories for the team.<\/p>\n

Biden, who has previously claimed to be a lifelong Green Bay Packers<\/a> fan, made a rare public appearance in Philly as the hosts cruised to a 31-0 victory over the Raiders at Lincoln Financial Field.<\/p>\n

After seemingly being invited to the game as their guest, the 83-year-old showed his support for the Eagles by pulling on a team baseball cap from Super Bowl<\/a> LVII in 2023.<\/p>\n

However, a number of users on social media were quick to point out that Philadelphia actually lost that Super Bowl to the Kansas<\/a> City Chiefs.<\/p>\n

‘Biden is wearing a SB57 hat supporting the Eagles, and the Chiefs beat the Eagles in that game. He can\u2019t even wear the correct SB hat,’ one wrote.<\/p>\n

‘They trotted out \u201cJoe Biden\u201d in front of the world yet again & he is wearing a Super Bowl LVII hat\u2026you know\u2026THE SUPER BOWL THAT THE EAGLES LOST!!! You can\u2019t make this s*** up,’ said another.<\/p>\n

A third put: ‘Someone needs to get Joe Biden a new Eagles hat that isn’t from the Super Bowl where they lost to the Chiefs’.<\/p>\n

While another simply concluded: ‘He\u2019s so outta touch’.<\/p>\n

In a video captured by reporter Jason Dumas, Biden said while on the sideline before Sunday’s game: ‘Go Birds man! All the way, we gotta win the Super Bowl again.’<\/p>\n

Super Bowl LVII took place during Biden’s term in office, meaning he invited the victorious Chiefs to the White House to celebrate their win shortly after.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The former Commander-in-Chief was born in the Pennsylvania city of Scranton, which is 125 miles away from Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Despite this, he has previously admitted to being a Packers fan since childhood after attending a Catholic school in Delaware with a Green Bay-supporting headmaster.<\/p>\n

‘Every Sunday the Packers won, the headmaster … Father Justin E. Diny would get on PA system and say, “Gentlemen no last period today,”‘ Biden said in 2021.<\/p>\n

‘He made everyone of us Packers fans. Besides I’m fearful I’ll go to hell if I don’t root for the Packers. Father Diny may come back. I can’t go against Father Diny. He’ll come out of his grave if he knew I was rooting for anybody else.’<\/p>\n

Biden, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this year, appears to be fond of both the Packers and the Eagles. His longtime wife, Jill, is a die-hard Philly fan after growing up in suburban Willow Grove, which is near the city.<\/p>\n
