The teenager fatally shot inside a Scranton residence on Friday was identified as Dylan Smith, 16, of Taylor, Scranton police announced Monday in a news release.<\/p>\n
On Friday, officers were dispatched to 1337 Bryn Mawr St. for a reported shooting victim and found a juvenile male with a gunshot wound, police said.<\/p>\n
Police began lifesaving measures before transporting Smith by ambulance to Geisinger Community Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, officers said.<\/p>\n
During the investigation, detectives determined the firearm used in the incident was reported stolen from Archbald two weeks earlier, police said.<\/p>\n
Detectives interviewed three juveniles on the night of the incident, detaining one on a felony charge of possession of a firearm by a minor, officers said.<\/p>\n
The shooting was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public, police said.<\/p>\n
An active criminal investigation remains ongoing, officers said.<\/p>\n
