Fallen Philadelphia officer Andy Chan will be laid to rest on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The highway patrol officer died on December 2, nearly seven years after being critically injured in a crash.<\/a><\/p>\n

Chopper 6 was over the police procession as Officer Chan’s casket was transported from the funeral home in Northeast Philadelphia to the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Center City.<\/p>\n

A final viewing will be held at the cathedral from 8:15 a.m. to 10:40 a.m.<\/p>\n

Services will follow at noon, with seating reserved for family, friends, law enforcement, and dignitaries.<\/p>\n

A public viewing was held for 55-year-old Chan on Monday night<\/a> at Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic Church, as members of the Philadelphia Police Department and the community paid their final respects.<\/p>\n

Chan grew up in Chinatown and attended elementary school at the same church where the viewing was held.<\/p>\n

Chan faced years of intensive care, following a crash in 2019 when a driver struck his motorcycle in the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
