Avian flu is suspected to have caused the deaths of hundreds of snow geese found at a Northampton County quarry, according to the PA Game Commission.<\/p>\n

NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Pa. \u2014 Hundreds of snow geese found dead in eastern Pennsylvania are suspected of dying from the avian flu, officials say.<\/p>\n

According to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, the waterfowl were found at a quarry in Northampton County.<\/p>\n

The game commission says it is responding to the incident and will safely handle the removal, testing, and disposal of the birds.<\/p>\n

Those encountering sick or dead wild birds anywhere in Pennsylvania can report them to the Game Commission by calling 1-833-PGC-WILD (1-833-742-9453).<\/p>\n

Officials say if you have had contact with sick or dead birds and are not feeling well, contact your primary care physician or the Pennsylvania Department of Health at 877-PA-HEALTH (877-724-3258).<\/p>\n
