{"id":62954,"date":"2025-12-17T03:52:06","date_gmt":"2025-12-17T03:52:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/62954\/"},"modified":"2025-12-17T03:52:06","modified_gmt":"2025-12-17T03:52:06","slug":"jacklinski-scores-20-points-to-lead-scranton-girls-to-first-victory-of-season-scranton-times-tribune","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/62954\/","title":{"rendered":"Jacklinski scores 20 points to lead Scranton girls to first victory of season \u2013 Scranton Times-Tribune"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chrissy Jacklinski scored 10 of her game-high 20 points in the first quarter as <a href=\"http:\/\/varsity.the570.com\/Scranton\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">No. 10 Scranton defeated Wyoming Valley West, 55-21<\/a>, on Tuesday to earn its first win of the season in a nonleague girls basketball game.<\/p>\n<p>Jaelyn Alers added 17 points, and sophomore Rhylee Bell finished with 12 points for the Lady Knights (1-4).<\/p>\n<p>Thalia Irizarry had six points for Wyoming Valley West.<\/p>\n<p>Montrose 45, Old Forge 36: At Old Forge, Sadie Jones pumped in 27 points to power <a href=\"http:\/\/varsity.the570.com\/Montrose\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Montrose to its first win of the season<\/a> in a nonleague matchup against the Lady Blue Devils.<\/p>\n<p>Jones had 14 of her her points in the first half, including nine in a decisive second quarter when the Lady Meteors (1-4) extended a one-point lead after one to 23-14 at halftime.<\/p>\n<p>Lana Clements led Old Forge (2-2) with 16 points, 10 of which came in the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Delaware Valley 54, Mountain View 41: At Mountain View, Amanda Argona scored 19 points, including eight in the fourth quarter, <a href=\"http:\/\/varsity.the570.com\/Delaware_Valley\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">to lead the seventh-ranked Lady Warriors past No. 6 Mountain View in a nonleague game<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Leah Bird scored 10 of her 16 points in the third quarter for undefeated Delaware Valley (5-0).<\/p>\n<p>Addison Kilmer scored 21 points and Aubrey Sanders added 17 points for the Lady Eagles (3-4).<\/p>\n<p>Lakeland 36, Forest City 31: At Lakeland, Naomi Rude made four 3-pointers and scored 15 points <a href=\"http:\/\/varsity.the570.com\/Lakeland\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">to lead the Lady Chiefs to a nonleague win<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Reina Walters added eight points and Olivia Cunningham had six points for Lakeland (3-2).<\/p>\n<p>Marlo Urbas scored 10 points to lead Forest City (0-4).<\/p>\n<p>Holy Cross 61, Blue Ridge 38: At Holy Cross, Ava Schmidt scored 15 points <a href=\"http:\/\/varsity.the570.com\/Holy_Cross\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">to lead the host Lady Crusaders to a nonleague victory<\/a> over Blue Ridge.<\/p>\n<p>Schmidt scored eight of her points in the first quarter when Holy Cross jumped out to a 22-4 lead. Lila Kolcharno and Mollie Urban added five points apiece in the quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Aniya Osgood chipped in 12 points and Urban finished with 10 for the Lady Crusaders (3-2).<\/p>\n<p>Abigail Gallagher tossed in a game-high 25 points for Blue Ridge (2-3).<\/p>\n<p>Boys basketball<\/p>\n<p>Cael Hafner scored 14 points, including eight in the second quarter, and Cole West scored 10 points and collected 19 rebounds to lead host <a href=\"http:\/\/varsity.the570.com\/North_Pocono\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">North Pocono to a 54-48 win over Honesdale in a nonleague game<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony Maros scored six of his 11 points and Connor Ruddy made five free throws in the fourth quarter to secure the win for the Trojans (2-3).<\/p>\n<p>Levi Martin scored eight of his 18 points in the first quarter.
