SWISSVALE, Pa. \u2014 Neighbors in Swissvale tell Channel 11 they are frustrated, their recycling hasn\u2019t been picked up in weeks. <\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re not Christmas presents,\u201d Adam Brake said, referring to the pile of cardboard boxes on his porch and sidewalk. <\/p>\n
He\u2019s lived on South Braddock Avenue for about 10 years.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe people in the neighborhood are very upset,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s very frustrating. You can see I have decorations up. I put a lot of time and money into doing something for my house.\u201d<\/p>\n
His recycling used to get picked up every Tuesday, but it\u2019s been four weeks. <\/p>\n
\u201cI have trash flowing off my house.\u201d<\/p>\n
We did reach out to the borough. So far, we\u2019ve not heard back, but the borough did post about the situation on Facebook, claiming they are still awaiting repairs on three of four trucks. <\/p>\n
The post went on to say they are borrowing a truck and will start collecting again on Thursday. Right now, there is no truck lined up for next week.<\/p>\n
While this has been going on, garbage has been getting collected. We asked Adam why he couldn\u2019t just leave the recycling for garbage collection. <\/p>\n
\u201cI set it out last week. They didn\u2019t pick it up. I even had a note that said \u2018please take it\u2019 and it was just left there.\u201d<\/p>\n
Adam hopes to see more money invested in trucks. <\/p>\n
