{"id":63929,"date":"2025-12-18T03:04:09","date_gmt":"2025-12-18T03:04:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/63929\/"},"modified":"2025-12-18T03:04:09","modified_gmt":"2025-12-18T03:04:09","slug":"heinz-family-foundation-announces-end-to-annual-awards-program-after-30-years-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/63929\/","title":{"rendered":"Heinz Family Foundation announces end to annual awards program after 30 years \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 The Heinz Awards, which since 1995 have honored achievements of those working across the arts, the economy and the environment, are coming to an end.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">On Monday, the Heinz Family Foundation announced the sunsetting of the program, effective Dec. 31, 2025. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The foundation said that the decision to do so follows \u201cthoughtful deliberation by Teresa Heinz and her family,\u201d and that in doing so, \u201cnew philanthropic efforts by the next generation\u201d will be made possible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The annual awards were started by Teresa Heinz 30 years ago to honor the memory of her late husband and Pittsburgh leader, U.S. Senator John Heinz.
