Data from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board<\/a> revealed growth across almost all areas, including both sports betting and iGaming. However, there were slight declines within the land-based casino sector. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\nSports betting records tumble in Pennsylvania \u00a0<\/p>\n
While iGaming has drawn attention in recent months by setting new records, it was sports betting\u2019s turn in November.<\/p>\n
Revenue for the sector hit an all-time high of $98.3 million, beating the previous record of $77.1 million in November last year by 27.6%. This figure was also 61.9% clear of October\u2019s haul. Online betting accounted for $92.4 million of monthly revenue, with retail\u2019s share at $5.9 million.<\/p>\n
Handle-wise, players spent $990.6 million, 2.3% ahead of the prior record in October and 5.9% more than November 2024. Some $946.6 million was wagered online during November, as well as $44 million at retail sportsbooks.<\/p>\n
As such, the state ended November with an overall hold of 9.92%.<\/p>\n
Looking to operators, FanDuel and Valley Forge Casino Resort retook top spot after slipping to second in October. Revenue of $58.4 million off a $372.9 million handle meant a hold of 11.85%.<\/p>\n
DraftKings and Hollywood Casino at the Meadows fell to second with $28.1 million from $299.8 million for a 9.37% hold. Hollywood Casino York and Fanatics Sportsbook placed third with $5.7 million off $62.2 million, meaning a hold of 9.16%.<\/p>\n
iGaming falls just short of revenue record<\/p>\n
Turning to iGaming, monthly revenue reached $242.7 million. This beat last year by 21.1% but was 3.4% less than October\u2019s all-time high of $251.1 million.<\/p>\n
Online slots revenue climbed 24.7% to $185.4 million and internet table game revenue was also up 11.1% to $55.1 million. However, online poker revenue dipped slightly to $2.3 million.<\/p>\n
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course and its online gaming partners again led the market with $91.3 million in revenue. Valley Forge Casino Resort and partners placed second at $70.9 million, then Rivers Casino Philadelphia third with $38.2 million.<\/p>\n
Land-based casino revenue down<\/p>\n
Elsewhere in the state, land-based slots remained the primary source of gambling revenue at $201.2 million. However, this was 0.1% lower than the previous year. Retail table games revenue also dipped 3.6% to $74.7 million.<\/p>\n
Video game terminal revenue at truck stop locations climbed 8.9% to $3.5 million while fantasy sports revenue edged up 2.8% to $2.5 million.<\/p>\n
As for tax, the state collected $260.9 million during November.
