READING, Pa. – A Philadelphia man has been found guilty of killing two teens during a shooting incident at a Reading gas station.<\/p>\n
Berks County District Attorney John Adams says Nyjee Jefferson was found guilty of first and third-degree murder and related offenses following a jury trial that began this week.<\/p>\n
The incident took place in February of 2022 at a Getty Mart on West Greenwich Street in Reading and involved Jefferson and another Philadelphia man.<\/p>\n
An interaction between the two parties took place inside the store and shortly after, gunfire erupted outside leaving both Jos\u00e9 Ventura-Jim\u00e9nez and an unnamed 17-year-old dead.<\/p>\n
Jefferson was taken into custody later that same morning in Philadelphia on an outstanding warrant after he turned up at Children’s Hospital with a gunshot wound.<\/p>\n
DA Adams said at the time of Jefferson’s arrest that all three individuals involved in the shooting were in possession of guns illegally.<\/p>\n
Online court records do not list a sentencing date for Jefferson at this time.<\/p>\n
