{"id":65181,"date":"2025-12-19T12:19:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T12:19:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/65181\/"},"modified":"2025-12-19T12:19:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T12:19:07","slug":"city-expanding-license-plate-reading-program-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/65181\/","title":{"rendered":"City expanding license plate reading program | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LANCASTER \u2014 The City of Lancaster will expand its network of license plate recognition cameras with new cameras on the east and south sides of the city.<\/p>\n<p>The City Council on Dec. 9 unanimously approved a $336,450, three-year agreement with SoundThinking Inc. for the purchase, installation and service of 50 PlateRanger license plate recognition cameras.<\/p>\n<p>The cost of the agreement will be paid from the Lancaster Police Department budget for technology-driven crime-prevention initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>The city deploys 53 license plate recognition cameras from Flock Safety through a contract set to expire in spring 2026.
