BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA \u2014 Bensalem Police have charged a man they say illegally entered the United States and then raped a woman while they were watching a movie.<\/p>\n
Kevin Mendez-Ramon, who is from Ecuador, was charged Thursday with rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, and indecent assault. He was arraigned and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on $50 million bail with 10 percent.<\/p>\n
The Bensalem Township Police Department said a woman was taken to St. Mary Medical Center for a rape kit exam after an incident on Nov. 30 at an apartment on Knights Road.<\/p>\n
Police said that Mendez-Ramon texted the woman asking whether she wanted to hang out. She agreed to meet Mendez-Ramon at his apartment, and the two watched a movie together.<\/p>\n
Mendez-Ramon then got on top of the woman and held her down while she repeatedly told him to stop and attempted to push him off of her, police said.<\/p>\n
Throughout the sexual assault, the woman screamed, hoping the roommates of Mendez-Ramon would hear her, police said. She was then freed by Mendez-Ramon.<\/p>\n
Bensalem Police said that Mendez-Ramon made statements to the victim that the rape sexually aroused him and that he prefers sex when it is non-consensual. <\/p>\n
Last Friday, the woman messaged Mendez-Ramon about the incident via Instagram. During the conversation, Mendez-Ramon acknowledged that he raped her, despite her yelling for him to stop and saying \u201cno.\u201d Mendez-Ramon apologized to the victim for his actions.
