Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton jumped out to a three-goal lead and ruined the Hartford Wolf Pack\u2019s home opener with a 5-2 AHL win on Friday night at PeoplesBank Arena.<\/p>\n
Rafael Harvey-Pinard and Atley Calvert scored first-period goals and Avery Hayes added a third score early in the second period for the 3-0 lead.<\/p>\n
Gabe Perreault got the Wolf Pack (0-2-0-0) on the board at 16:41 of the second with Dylan Roobroeck and Blake Hillman assisting. Adam Sykora pulled Hartford within a goal at 6:50 of the third with Derrick Pouliot and Conner Mackey assisting.<\/p>\n
Calvert added his second goal of the night at 11:53 of the final period before teammate Tristan Broz closed out the scoring with an empty-netter at 17:53. Sergei Murashov stopped 28 shots for the Penguins, while Dyland Garand had 27 saves for Hartford.<\/p>\n
The Wolf Pack are back in action on Saturday at Providence at 7:05 p.m.<\/p>\n
