Junior Brendan Carr scored a career-high 28 points to lead the University of Scranton men\u2019s basketball team to an 89-77 win over Ursinus College on Friday at the York Spartan Classic.<\/p>\n
Carr scored 17 of his points in the second half when the Royals outscored Ursinus, 57-45, to break a 32-32 halftime tie. Scranton shot 61.5 percent from the field (16 for 26), including 6 of 10 from 3-point range, in the second half.<\/p>\n
Nick Ruisi had a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds for the Royals (8-1). Sammy Tornabene added 15 points and Abington Heights grad Will Marion contributed 10 points. Jon Spatola handed out seven assists.<\/p>\n
Jamie Murphy led Ursinus (5-3) with 23 points. Dallas graduate Nick Nocito scored eight points and Scranton Prep graduate Brycen Martin also played for the Bears.<\/p>\n
Scranton continues play in the York Spartan Classic on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Nazareth University.<\/p>\n

Lucas Griffin had a pin in 4:38 at 133 pounds in the round of 32 before being eliminated in the round of 16.
