The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without T.J. Watt for the second consecutive game after he had to get surgery to repair a partially collapsed lung. The injury occurred at the team facility, and Watt was sent to a local Pittsburgh hospital after feeling discomfort. And with such a rare and frankly scary injury, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that returning to the playing field isn\u2019t Watt\u2019s main focus – getting completely healthy is.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter missing two games due to a partially collapsed lung, T.J. Watt\u2019s return to play remains murky and uncertain, per sources,\u201d Schefter reports on X.<\/a> \u201cWatt\u2019s focus has been on getting healthy from his partially collapsed lung; returning to play is secondary, and has not been his focus. Doctors will assess how he feels next week to see if there\u2019s even a chance to play in Week 17, but ideally Watt gets more time to recover from his lung injury that resulted in him being ruled out of Sunday\u2019s game vs. Detroit.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Steelers are 2-11 all-time with Watt out of the lineup. However, his health should remain his primary focus – even if it means he can\u2019t return to the field until 2026.<\/p>\n
