PennDOT maintenance crews<\/a> will conduct bridge repairs, crack sealing and other road work across Lehigh County<\/a> starting Monday, Dec. 22, with multiple projects creating lane restrictions through Friday, Dec. 27. <\/p>\n

Nighttime pothole patching on Interstate 78 will affect both directions between Exit 49 at Route 100 and the Northampton County line. The work spans Upper Macungie, South Whitehall, Salisbury and Upper Saucon municipalities. Lane restrictions will be in place from 8 p.m. to midnight on Dec. 22 through Dec. 25 and again on Dec. 26 through Dec. 27.<\/p>\n

Bridge repair work is scheduled on Limeport Pike in Upper Saucon Township between Spinnerstown Road and Elementary Road from Dec. 22 through Dec. 23. The work will create daytime lane restrictions from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. In Lynn Township, bridge repairs on Route 309 between Memorial Road and Mountain Road will occur on Dec. 24 and Dec. 26, with lane restrictions and flagging during the same daytime hours.<\/p>\n

PennDOT maintenance forces will conduct brush cutting on Shankweiler Road in North Whitehall Township between Route 309 and Cedar Crest Boulevard. Lane restrictions with flagging will be in place from Dec. 22 through Dec. 24 and again on Dec. 26 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.<\/p>\n

Crack sealing operations will affect multiple roads across the county. In Upper Macungie Township, Trexlertown Road between Spring Creek Road and Hamilton Boulevard will have lane restrictions Dec. 22 and Dec. 23. Hamilton Boulevard in Lower Macungie Township between Weiler\u2019s Road and Route 222 will have restrictions on Dec. 24 and Dec. 26.<\/p>\n

Additional crack sealing work is scheduled on Macungie Mountain Road in Lower Macungie Township on Dec. 22, Spinnerstown Road in Lower Milford Township from Dec. 23 through Dec. 24, Route 29 in Lower Macungie and Emmaus from Dec. 22 through Dec. 24, and Kings Highway in Lower Milford and Upper Milford townships on Dec. 24. All daytime crack sealing work will occur from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with lane restrictions and flagging where needed.<\/p>\n

None of the scheduled projects are expected to be delayed by rain, according to PennDOT.<\/p>\n

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com<\/a>. The free service is available 24 hours a day and provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. It is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following local alerts on X.<\/p>\n
