(AP) \u2014 There was a gas explosion reported Tuesday at a nursing home just outside Philadelphia and people are believed to be trapped inside, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe understand that there are people trapped inside,\u201d said Ruth Miller, a Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Bucks County officials notified the agency of an explosion before 3 p.m. at the Silver Lake nursing home in Bristol Township, about 20 miles northeast of Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"First responders are on the scene of a fire after an explosion at a nursing home in Bristol...\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/4Z4YHEVFZZEHZFK2DZ27IIGGOQ.jpg\" width=\"980\" height=\"518\" \/>First responders are on the scene of a fire after an explosion at a nursing home in Bristol Township, Pa., on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025. Tina Davis, whose district includes the center, said she got near the scene in her car but did not want to interfere.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI saw smoke and I saw car after car after car was a fire truck or ambulance from all over the city, from all over,\u201d Davis said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">She said there was talk of using a nearby school as a temporary evacuation area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Jim Morgan, president of the Bristol Township School Board, said district buses will be taking people from the emergency scene at the nursing home to a reunification center at Truman High School. He said officials were working on setting up beds and providing water and other needs to residents. As of 4 p.m., no one had shown up at the school, Morgan said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIt\u2019s just so sad \u2014 it\u2019s that hopeful time of year. This is just something that is sad for everybody and the families and the workers that are there. I hope there are positive results from this.
