U. SAUCON TWP., Pa.\u00a0\u2013 Halloween has arrived early for our furry friends. Barktoberfest<\/a> is kicking off at the Promenade Saucon Valley today.<\/p>\n

Patrick Turner, general manager\u00a0of Promenade Saucon Valley, said hundreds of dogs are expected to attend the event, which kicks off with a preview night on Friday at 4 p.m.<\/p>\n

The full event takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will feature dock diving fun,\u00a0dozens of pet-friendly vendors, pet costume contests, pumpkin painting, family entertainment, rescue organizations, food and more.<\/p>\n

Turner said it’s the third year for the free event that’s open to the public.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He said the main event will feature a 27,000-gallon pool where dogs will compete in various water competitions.<\/p>\n

Shoppers who spend at least $50 will get a free Promenade-branded pet tote organizer.<\/p>\n

Man\u2019s best friend will take center stage during a two-day event in Lehigh County.<\/p>\n

Deb Hrouse with K9 Resorts<\/a>, one of the event’s sponsors, says they partner with the Promenade to create a fun, family-friendly attraction where they can connect with the community.<\/p>\n

While Barktoberfest is primarily about dogs, a cat or two has been known to show up, as all furry friends are invited.<\/p>\n
