On December 24, 2025, State Police Troop T with the assistance of the Troop G Bureau of Criminal Investigations in Latham arrested\u00a0Shaheem T. Sanders, 23 Schenectady,\u00a0Thaj E. Sobers, 23 Schenectady, and a\u00a017-year-old for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd, a class \u201cA\u201d felony and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, a class \u201cB\u201d felony.<\/p>\n
Sanders\u00a0and\u00a0Sobers\u00a0were also charged with violations of vehicle and traffic laws.<\/p>\n
On December 24, 2025, at approximately 3:03 a.m. troopers from Troop T stopped a northbound vehicle on I-87 Thruway in Bethlehem for vehicle and traffic law violations. The driver was identified as\u00a0Sanders,\u00a0and the passengers as\u00a0Sobers\u00a0and a\u00a017-year-old.\u00a0Further investigation with the assistance of State Police K9 Ash discovered nearly three pounds of a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine and a large amount of U.S. currency in the vehicle.<\/p>\n
All three were arrested and transported to SP Albany for processing.
