The Allentown Rotary Foundation has announced $10,000 in donations to four Lehigh Valley nonprofits that are addressing the emergency food crisis affecting the community.<\/p>\n
Each organization will receive $2,500 to support their food security initiatives.<\/p>\n
The grant recipients are:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Lehigh Conference of Churches – Daybreak Program<\/p>\n
\u2022 Star Community Health Center<\/p>\n
\u2022 Salvation Army Allentown<\/p>\n
\u2022 Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Pantry<\/p>\n
\u201cFood security is not just about sustenance, it is the foundation upon which people build their lives, their health and their futures,\u201d said Rosaria Stoops, Assistant District Governor, Allentown Rotary.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe recognize that our neighbors cannot reach their full potential, care for their families, or contribute to our community when they are struggling to meet their most basic nutritional needs,\u201d Stoops said.<\/p>\n
The grants reflect the Allentown Rotary Foundation\u2019s commitment to making meaningful investments in the community during times of urgent need.<\/p>\n
The work of the four organizations to combat food insecurity aligns with the Foundation\u2019s mission to serve the community and create lasting positive change.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have witnessed the dedication of these organizations and the critical role they play in ensuring that our neighbors do not go hungry,\u201d Stoops said, adding, \u201cWe are honored to support this vital work across multiple fronts in our community.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Allentown Rotary Foundation states that it believes that addressing hunger strengthens the resilience of the entire community. The grants will enable the recipient organizations to continue and expand essential food security services during this challenging time.<\/p>\n
