Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) Family Health Associates in Bethlehem is getting a new family nurse practitioner.<\/p>\n
Shannon Duerk, FNP, has spent more than a decade working as a nurse in emergency departments and operating rooms. She now brings her expertise to NGPG.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been fortunate to care for patients in so many different settings over the years, but what I love most is forming long-term relationships,\u201d Duerk said. \u201cThat\u2019s why I moved into family medicine, so I can use all my years of experience to improve peoples\u2019 day-to-day lives.\u201d<\/p>\n
Service is an integral part of Duerk’s life. She was raised in a miliary home and later married a Navy veteran. Duerk was born in Greece while her father was stationed there but she grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia.<\/p>\n
Duerk graduated from Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio before working as a nurse at ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital for more than 10 years. She eventually went back Ohio University to get her master’s degree and become a family nurse practitioner.<\/p>\n
Duerk enjoys traveling, working in her flower garden, and attending concerts. She also says she loves spending time with her children and grandchildren and serving at her church in Hamilton Mill.<\/p>\n
The Bethlehem location is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located inside Medical Plaza at 990 Loganville Highway, Suite 105.<\/p>\n
