A tasty business is bidding farewell as another one is preparing to open in Lehigh County.<\/p>\n
Griddle 145, a full-service restaurant offering breakfast and lunch dishes, will close on Dec. 31 at 1146 MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township, according to an announcement posted Saturday on the business\u2019 Facebook and Instagram pages.<\/p>\n
Husband and wife Taylor and Sherry Eisenhard opened Griddle 145 in 2012, and the eatery quickly established itself as a staple destination for burgers, Belgian waffles, build-your-own omelets and other breakfast and lunch favorites in the Lehigh Valley.<\/p>\n

However, the upcoming closure \u201cisn\u2019t goodbye\u201d but rather a \u201cnew beginning,\u201d the announcement continues.<\/p>\n
Taylor is joining forces with partners to lead operations at a forthcoming restaurant, The Broken Record, set to open next month at 6776 Hamilton Blvd. in Lower Macungie Township.<\/p>\n
Griddle 145\u2019s kitchen and front-of-house team also will be transitioning to The Broken Record.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter 13 \u00bd years of shared mornings, familiar faces, celebrations, and everyday moments, Griddle 145 will be closing at our current location on December 31, 2025,\u201d the announcement reads.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis place has been more than a restaurant \u2013 it\u2019s been part of our lives, and part of yours. We\u2019ve watched families grow, friendships form, milestones celebrated, and routines become traditions. For that, we are endlessly grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Broken Record will operate next to A.B.E. Doors & Windows, in an end unit of a newly constructed strip mall.<\/p>\n
Redd & Co. Fine Jewelers, a full-service jeweler offering sales, repairs and custom designs, opened its new, larger store at the other end of the strip mall in April.<\/p>\n
The new restaurant occupies a newly outfitted space, featuring new flooring, lighting, kitchen equipment and furniture.<\/p>\n
\u201cClosing this chapter is emotional,\u201d the Griddle 145 announcement continues.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re sad to say goodbye to these walls, deeply thankful for the memories made here, and incredibly excited for what\u2019s ahead \u2013 all at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the spring, Taylor told 69 News that the new Lower Macungie restaurant will feature a “modern American mix,” with some international influences.<\/p>\n
A full bar will offer a wide variety of domestic and international craft beer, wine and spirits, along with classic and signature cocktails, he added.<\/p>\n

At Griddle 145, customers can enjoy a menu of classic and creative American fare, including breakfast selections such as build-your-own omelets, chicken and waffles, huevos rancheros, scallion pancakes, lemon ricotta pancakes, tomato Florentine eggs Benedict, strawberry dream French toast (topped with strawberry cream cheese, fresh sliced strawberries and house-made strawberry sauce) and “house hash” (sliced steak, onions, peppers and breakfast potatoes topped with house-made ranchero sauce, cheddar jack cheese, two eggs any style and toast).<\/p>\n
Lunch menu highlights include shrimp tacos, chicken Milan sandwich, G145 Cubano and build-your-own and signature burgers such as “The Boomer” (smoked bacon, fried egg, cheddar jack cheese and chipotle mayo).<\/p>\n
“We offer an all-day breakfast and lunch menu that fuses comfort and indulgence in dishes such as banana Fosters French toast and a lavishly topped Boomer Burger, in addition to deliciously thought out seasonal specials and vegan options,” a message on the business’ website reads. “There is something for everyone.”<\/p>\n
