Erie football has won every league game since coach Jeff Giger took over the program 4 \u00bd years ago.<\/p>\n
And with the help of top-level collegiate recruits in running back Braylon Toliver and tight end Gabe Sema, the Colorado Preps 5A No. 9 Tigers (5-2, 2-0), in their second season inside the Front Range South League, are looking for it to stay that way when they host Mullen on Friday.<\/p>\n
Football: Toliver & Company making most of new roles for Erie<\/a><\/p>\n Toliver, who committed to Oregon State in May, has been box-office-blockbuster good in his senior football season. After sitting out of the team\u2019s 35-23 win at Rangeview, he returned last week and totaled 192 yards of offense and three scores in a 61-34 win over Vista PEAK Prep. He’s rushed for 670 yards and has nine touchdowns, including one via pick-six.<\/p>\n The win over Vista PEAK Prep (Erie’s fourth straight) was the second time this season it has surpassed 60 points (in its season opener, it beat Brighton 67-17). Against the Bison, junior quarterback Jack Arnold threw for a career-best five scores. While the Tigers took down a talented Fort Collins (5-2) and 4A defending champ Broomfield (6-1) in consecutive weeks to end September, the Mustangs (3-4, 2-0) don’t have much to show from a daunting nonconference schedule.
