New court documents on Wednesday revealed more information into the case of a Reading couple and their youngest child found dead<\/a> in separate locations in Berks County. <\/p>\n

Junior Cabrera-Colon, 31, Geraldina Peguero-Mancebo, and their 1-year-old son, Jeydon Junior Peguero, were all found dead after being reported missing on Sept. 12, 2025. <\/p>\n

Jose Luis Rodriguez, 61, who has been charged with first-degree murder for the death of Junior, has been revealed to have been so close to the family that he was a co-signer on their lease, court documents stated. <\/p>\n

Rodriguez has confessed to killing Junior — who was found on Sept. 13, 2025, in a grassy field in Baer Park with a bullet to the head — in self-defense. He claims Junior pulled a gun on him, leading to a struggle and a deadly shot. <\/p>\n

However, Rodriguez has not been charged in the deaths of Junior’s wife, Geraldina, and their son.<\/p>\n

Geraldina was found in a grassy field in Ontelaunee Township on Sept. 19, and her baby was found a day later in a swamp not far from where she was found. <\/p>\n

“She didn’t mess with nobody, she didn’t even know how to fight,” said Heinel Medrano, Geraldina’s cousin living in the Dominican Republic. “So, like the biggest heart. You knew she was going to be there for you.”<\/p>\n

Medrano said the couple moved to the U.S. two years ago in search of a better life. <\/p>\n

Police say Rodriguez’s confession lead to the discovery of Geraldina and the infant’s bodies. <\/p>\n

“I want to give people this type of calling,” Medrano said. “Be careful who you let inside to your house.”<\/p>\n

Court documents on Wednesday also said that investigators have uncovered surveillance video of when Cabrera-Colon’s body was dumped at Baer Park.<\/p>\n

The video allegedly shows a second person in Rodriguez’s car as he gets rid of the body, suggesting there is a second person of interest in the case. <\/p>\n

For Medrano, he wants justice brought to his beloved family members, as well as help in bringing them back to the Dominican Republic to be laid to rest.<\/p>\n

Geraldina and Junior leave behind three other living children, Medrano said. <\/p>\n

“There’s three lives, a complete family, that have no parents right now,” he said. “If you can send some type of help, prayers to the whole family.”<\/p>\n

A GoFundMe<\/a> has been set up for the family. <\/p>\n
