Philadelphia<\/a> knows how to celebrate its own\u2014and this January, Historic Philadelphia is honoring its most famous founding father, Benjamin Franklin.<\/p>\n Birthday ‘Bengo’<\/p>\n In 2026, there will be two opportunities to celebrate Franklin\u2019s 320th birthday, with the first taking place at Franklin Square the weekend of Jan. 10 and 11. On those dates, locals can head to the city\u2019s historic venue to partake in Boozy Ben\u2019s Birthday \u201cBengo\u201d<\/a>, which will take place inside the heated Frosty\u2019s Fireside Lounge. Cocktails will be available for purchase, and those who want to participate in the game can pay $5 for a card. Bengo will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. both nights; no reservations required.<\/p>\n Proceeds from \u201cBengo\u201d benefit the management and operation of Franklin Square, a release notes. Winter in Franklin Square always features the Electrical Spectacle Light Show presented by PECO. The show (which runs Jan. 8 through Feb. 28) dons hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights choreographed to winter music throughout the Square every night.<\/p>\n Otherwise, while at the Franklin Square this frosty season, guests can also cozy up around fire pits with hot beverages (including spiked options for adults), or check out activities like Street Curling and Chilly Philly Mini Golf. With the former, guests can book a 30-minute session for up to 8 players at each of the two street rinks for $40. And with the latter, locals can play a mini-golf experience decked out with lights, seasonal music, and “larger-than-life wintertime friends” throughout the course.<\/p>\n Tippler’s Tour<\/p>\n
