{"id":73384,"date":"2025-12-30T03:50:06","date_gmt":"2025-12-30T03:50:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/73384\/"},"modified":"2025-12-30T03:50:06","modified_gmt":"2025-12-30T03:50:06","slug":"giving-garland-mother-and-son-donate-hand-me-down-holiday-decorations-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/73384\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Giving Garland&#8217;: Mother and son donate hand-me-down holiday decorations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao MvWXB TjIXL aGjvy ebVHC \">PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) &#8212; <br class=\" \"\/>Whether it&#8217;s an ornament at the bottom of the box, or a nutcracker collecting dust in the attic, hand-me-down decorations can find a new home thanks to one local high school student and his mom.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Grant Benedum and his mom, Christine, created a mission called, &#8216;Giving Garland,&#8217; earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">They have partnered with Norwood-Fontbonne Academy and Our Mother of Consolation Catholic Church in Chestnut Hill to collect decorations from students, parishioners, and their families.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The result has been a roaring success so far.
