UPPER SAUCON TWP., Pa. – If you’re wondering what to do with your Christmas tree once you take it down, a farm in Lehigh County has a unique request.<\/p>\n
They’re asking you to donate it to their farm animals.<\/p>\n
Flint Hill Farm in Upper Saucon Township is home to the second highest elevation in all of Lehigh County. But for Kathy Fieldes, it’s the happiest place.<\/p>\n
Surrounded by her animal friends, Fieldes is collecting community Christmas trees to help feed them.<\/p>\n
“We offer them to our rabbits, we offer some to our goats and some to our cows,” explained Fieldes.<\/p>\n
Goats are browsers, not grazers. That means they’ll just pick at these pine branches, which for them, is a delicacy.<\/p>\n
If you have a tree you want to donate, Fieldes says to call or come to the farm.<\/p>\n
“Then we can meet them out here, and then they can toss them over the fence.
