Lehigh University unveiled plans to build a four-wing dorm complex overlooking the heart of its campus.<\/p>\n

The 23,000-square-foot East Hill Residential Halls complex is slated for a wooded slope on University Drive between McClintic-Marshall House and Drinker House on the South Bethlehem campus.<\/p>\n

The plans got a preliminary review at the Bethlehem planning commission meeting<\/a> on Dec. 9.<\/p>\n

Architectural plans and renderings<\/a> attached to the meeting agenda<\/a> don\u2019t specify the number of rooms or beds in the dormitories.<\/p>\n

The college newspaper, The Brown and White<\/a>, reported that plans call for 370 beds, while lehighvalleynews.com<\/a> reported the complex will have 375 beds in a mix of 245 single and double units for freshmen.<\/p>\n

The Brown and White<\/a> reports the college hopes to start building in 2026 in time for a fall 2028 opening. Lehighvalleynews.com<\/a> reports no action was taken at the Dec. 9 meeting.<\/p>\n

The university board of trustees adopted a 30-year master plan<\/a> in August. Details<\/a> are on the Lehigh University website<\/a>.<\/p>\n
