HARRISBURG, Pa. (WKBN) \u2013 There were six fatalities in crashes across Pennsylvania over the Christmas holiday, ranging from Dec. 24-28.<\/p>\n
That number reflects crashes handled by state agencies and not those by local police.<\/p>\n
There were 1,007 crashes, and impaired driving was identified as a factor in 53 of them.<\/p>\n
During the five-day holiday weekend, troopers arrested 207 individuals for driving under the influence and issued the following citations:<\/p>\n
155 for failing to wear a seat belt.<\/p>\n
10 for not securing children in safety seats.<\/p>\n
WKBN sister station WTRF reported that three people were killed<\/a> and three others were hurt in a head-on crash on Christmas Day in Centre County, Pennsylvania State Police said. The details were first reported by\u00a0KDKA<\/a>.<\/p>\n State police said the crash happened about 2:30 p.m. on North Eagle Valley Road near Swartz Hollow Road in Howard Township.
