UPDATE 1:35 PM: Erie County Executive Brenton Davis told us the page was unpublished by his team. That means it was temporarily hidden from public view.<\/p>\n

Thursday afternoon, Davis said he republished the page but does not plan to post anything on the official Facebook page for the rest of his term.<\/p>\n

Davis says he has turned over access to the county\u2019s interim IT director, and Christina Vogel\u2019s administration can take over once she is sworn in on Monday.<\/p>\n

(WJET\/WFXP)\u2013 It\u2019s a curious case of a disappearing Facebook page. The Erie County Government official Facebook page seemingly vanished from the internet leading up to the new year.<\/p>\n

As of January 1, the official Erie County Government Facebook page, which has thousands of followers, is unavailable, either through search or direct link.<\/p>\n

Erie County Councilman Rock Copeland first noted the page\u2019s absence on December 29 in a post of his own<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We reached out to Erie County Executive Brenton Davis and Erie County Executive-Elect Christina Vogel\u2019s team, who both said they don\u2019t know what happened to the page.<\/p>\n

The Brenton Davis Administration is still in charge of Erie County Government until Vogel is sworn in on January 5.<\/p>\n
