{"id":75744,"date":"2026-01-01T19:42:06","date_gmt":"2026-01-01T19:42:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/75744\/"},"modified":"2026-01-01T19:42:06","modified_gmt":"2026-01-01T19:42:06","slug":"fire-damages-apartments-kills-dogs-near-event-venue-in-allegheny-county-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/75744\/","title":{"rendered":"Fire damages apartments, kills dogs near event venue in Allegheny County \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">SOUTH FAYETTE TOWNSHIP, Pa. \u2014 A fire damaged apartments located near an event venue in Allegheny County on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Allegheny County 911 dispatchers say emergency crews were called to the 200 block of Union Avenue in South Fayette Township around 6:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Fire officials on scene tell Channel 11 that a number of dogs were killed in the fire, but all people were able to get out safely. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The property has three apartments, officials say. The fire started on the second floor and severely damaged two units, with the unit below sustaining water damage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Also located on the property is the event venue Cozzi Acres. The venue is separate from the apartments and was not damaged, fire officials say.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Cozzi Acres posted this statement on social media:<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cWe wanted to update the community as there was a fire last night in a separate building on the Cozzi Acres property.
