SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) \u2014 A tattoo parlor in Scranton partnered with a recently revamped nonprofit to help the homeless, while applying some fresh ink in the process.<\/p>\n
The Spare Oom held a promotion where a chunk of the proceeds from tattoos inked today would go to the Scranton Solidarity Project. All day people came in to get a fresh look while supporting a good cause. The Scranton Solidarity Project was recently revived and aims to help the unhoused and needy in the Scranton area.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe try to get together every Saturday, cook a hot meal for everybody over at the V spot bar, and that\u2019s between the hours of five and seven,” explained Kerrin Paul, one of the co-founders of the charity. “We take turns cooking. We try to fulfill any requests for items that people need, like warm jackets, blankets, shoes, anything that\u2019s being asked for, tents, things of that nature. So, today\u2019s funding will go towards that.\u201d<\/p>\n
The charity is constantly looking for volunteers and more supplies as days continue to get colder and homeless people are subjected to severe winter weather conditions.
