{"id":7601,"date":"2025-10-19T01:10:14","date_gmt":"2025-10-19T01:10:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/7601\/"},"modified":"2025-10-19T01:10:14","modified_gmt":"2025-10-19T01:10:14","slug":"memorial-service-will-honor-2-fallen-bensalem-police-officers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/7601\/","title":{"rendered":"Memorial Service Will Honor 2 Fallen Bensalem Police Officers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA \u2014 The township will hold its annual Police Memorial Service on Monday to remember fallen officers James Armstrong and Robert Yezzi.<\/p>\n<p>The Bensalem Township Police Department said the ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at the township building on 2400 Byberry Road. <\/p>\n<p>On April 15, 1975, Armstrong was shot and killed as he investigated an armed robbery. His K-9 partner, Shep, was also shot that day but he survived.<\/p>\n<p>On Aug. 12, 1980, Yezzi was struck and killed by a motor vehicle while investigating a suspicious pedestrian.
