FAYETTE COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) \u2014 An arson that claimed the lives of three Pennsylvania children decades ago remains under investigation as authorities said Friday they are still looking for who set the fire.<\/p>\n

There is a $5,000 reward being offered for anyone who can help solve the homicide case surrounding the deaths of 9-year-old Franklin Isler, eight-year-old Catherine Isler and six-year-old Lanny Isler, according to Pennsylvania State Police<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was Jan. 22, 1986, when the home, located at 339 N. Gallatin Avenue in North Union Township, Fayette County, was set on fire with children inside.<\/p>\n

Investigators said three children did not make it out and died of smoke inhalation.<\/p>\n

According to State Police, there was a fourth child, 10-year-old Mark Isler, who was inside the house but was able to make it out.<\/p>\n

The parents, 28-year-old Catherine Isler and 45-year-old Lewis Isler, were not home at the time of the fire and were charged with involuntary manslaughter and endangering the welfare of children for leaving them alone at the home, investigators said.<\/p>\n

The reason why homicide charges have not yet been filed in the case is because no evidence points to the parents playing a role in the fire, investigators said.<\/p>\n

The arsonist responsible for the homicides has never been prosecuted.<\/p>\n

State Police said it was determined that the fire was intentionally set during the investigation. Gasoline was found on samples taken from the charred home.<\/p>\n
