Several Lackawanna Football Conference standouts were named to the Pennsylvania Football News Coaches\u2019 All-State teams in the six classifications.<\/p>\n
Lackawanna Trail, the LFC Division III and District 2 Class 1A champions, had three first-team selections and a second-team honoree.<\/p>\n
Record-setting running back Isaac Ryon, guard Anthony Paolucci, and linebacker Tyler Jervis were first-team choices. Tackle Lucas Evans made the second team.<\/p>\n
Scranton Prep outside linebacker Braedon McPartland was selected to the Class 3A first team.<\/p>\n
Two of his teammates were named to the second team. His brother, Will McPartland, a quarterback chosen as an athlete, and defensive tackle Anthony De Los Santos earned spots on the second team.<\/p>\n
North Pocono, the District 2 Class 4A champion, had 3 players recognized by the coaches. Outside linebacker Evan Wolff and defensive back Cole West were chosen for the first team. Tackle Cole Zimmerman was named to the second team.<\/p>\n
Honesdale fullback Gabe Duda was named to the Class 4A second team.<\/p>\n
Delaware Valley tight end James Dabney, who helped his team win the District 2 Class 5A championship, was named to the Class 5A first team.<\/p>\n
Abington Heights wide receiver Gavin Anders made the Class 5A second team.<\/p>\n
Caster in action<\/p>\n
North Pocono offensive lineman Dylan Caster will play in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl on Monday as a member of the East all-star team. The game against the West All-Stars is at 1 p.m. at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.<\/p>\n
Caster, a two-year starter, was one of the driving forces for the Trojans on the way to the LFC Division I and District 2 Class 4A championships. The 6-foot-8, 330-pound offensive tackle is a college prospect.<\/p>\n
North Pocono ran for an average of 274.4 yards per game during its 13-1 season. Caster also played defensive line for the Trojans.<\/p>\n
Signing day<\/p>\n
The first day high school football recruits can sign their Written Offer of Athletic Aid (WOA) for NCAA Division I and Division II programs is Feb. 4. The signing period lasts until Aug. 1.<\/p>\n
The WOA, formerly known as the National Letter of Intent, is an official binding document between an athlete and a school, and prevents other Division I and Division II schools from recruiting the athletes.<\/p>\n
