ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Julian Guridy has been recommended as Democratic nominee for the February 24th special election for Pennsylvania\u2019s 22nd Legislative District, according to a Guridy press release.<\/p>\n

Guridy, a former Constituent Services Representative for State Senator Nick Miller, won the vote of nearly 90% of committee members voting for this recommendation.<\/p>\n

As nominee, Guridy will run to succeed County Executive-elect Joshua Siegel as Allentown and Salisbury Township\u2019s newest State Representative.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am honored by the confidence local Democrats have placed in me to be their candidate,\u201d said Julian Guridy. \u201cThis is only the beginning. I will fight for every vote, and when I arrive in Harrisburg I will fight every day to ensure a better future for Allentown and Salisbury.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guridy says that as state representative, he will focus on ensuring affordable housing, opportunity for every child, and safe neighborhoods.<\/p>\n

Democratic leaders say they celebrate Julian\u2019s selection. \u201cWe are proud of our next State Representative Julian Guridy. Julian is a qualified community leader from this community, and will continue fighting for it every day in Harrisburg\u201d, said Lehigh County Democratic Chairwoman Lori McFarland.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His experience in state government constituent services will ensure that HD-22 continues to receive the people-driven service they\u2019ve come to expect from their representative\u201d, said Pennsylvania House Speaker Joanna E.
