UPPER DARBY, Pa. (WPVI) – A Pennsylvania woman is facing attempted murder charges after she allegedly ran over her boyfriend with her car on New Year\u2019s Eve in an incident that was captured on video.<\/p>\n
Upper Darby Police say 23-year-old Destenee Green and her boyfriend got in a fight around 3 p.m. Wednesday while sitting in a Taco Bell parking lot. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe got out of the vehicle, did the right thing. He knew tempers were really flaring. Got out of the vehicle and walked away,\u201d Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt said.<\/p>\n
Police allege Green then chased her boyfriend down, driving the wrong way down the road and over a sidewalk to hit him with her 2019 Hyundai Elantra. She then left the scene.<\/p>\n
During the incident, Green also hit a parked tow truck, which police say lessened the impact on her boyfriend. The victim walked away with cuts on his hand and road rash on his back.<\/p>\n
Musa Hussain, 12, heard the crash from inside his father\u2019s car shop nearby.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe guy who got hit, he just picked his stuff up and left,\u201d Musa said. \u201cIf we didn\u2019t have this truck, he would\u2019ve been not alive.\u201d<\/p>\n
Green is facing attempted murder charges. Police say they have recovered her car and are urging her to turn herself in.<\/p>\n
Bernhardt adds that domestic violence incidents have been on the rise in recent weeks.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately, we\u2019ve seen a lot of domestic violence incidents in the past month. It\u2019s a tough time of year. I\u2019ve said it before: I ask everyone to take a deep breath. Stay calm, walk away,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
