Everyone who knew Brian witnessed his boundless devotion and absolute adoration for his loving wife, Joanne Mackarey Coyne, who he so affectionately referred to as Sparkles. They would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this January.

Brian was a 1976 graduate of West Scranton High School and a proud member of the Invaders wrestling team. He was a pressman for over 40 years and a member of the Teamsters Union. He spent his retirement as a full-time caregiver for his wife, but dont feel bad for him, spending time with her and his family was the joy of his life under any circumstances.

Brian had a larger than life personality and never met a stranger. He could spark up a conversation with anyone and there’s no doubt they would leave the conversation laughing and most likely with a kiss. The only thing bigger than his personality was his heart, especially for his children, grandchildren and all things Penn State. Brian looked forward to family time with such joy and his grandchildren loved spending time with their grandpa. He was a creature of habit and any disruption in his routine was catastrophic, much like the loss his family and loved ones have endured since his passing. He will be forever missed so profoundly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John R. And Helen Coyne and his brothers Michael (Catherine) and James (Kathleen). In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Rosemarie Coyne and partner Keith Cavallotti, Scranton, Sadie Baldinucci and husband Tony, Scranton, Gabriel Coyne and partner Samantha Erikhman and Brianna Navoczynski and husband DJ; along with Grandchildren Parker, Ezra, Asher, Wesley, Jaxon and Sophia. He is also survived by his siblings; John (Ellen) Coyne, Sr Mary Ellen Coyne, IHM, Joanne (Robert) Hill, Patrick (Stephanie) Coyne, Robert Coyne, Gerald (Marie Curmaci) Coyne, Linda (Brian) Marcks, Joseph (Paula Booth) Coyne, Thomas Coyne and Paul Coyne; as well as dozens of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Friends may call Tuesday from 9am until 11:45am in the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home, 1240 St. Ann’s Street, Scranton with a Mass of Christian Burial at St Ann’s Basilica Parish at noon.
