Smack in the middle of Peacock’s January 5 triple-header, you’ll have the chance to see the Nuggets head over to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers in primetime. It’s a big matchup, and a chance for the Sixers to build some momentum at home while the Nuggets are down their best player. Let’s take a closer look.<\/p>\n

How to watch the Denver Nuggets vs. Philadelphia 76ers on Peacock NBA Monday?<\/p>\n

The Nuggets and the Sixers will tip off Monday, January 5 at 8:30 p.m. Eastern, live from the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. You can catch the game live on Peacock<\/a> with a subscription.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The game will be preceded by the New York Knicks and the Detroit Pistons matchup tipping off at 7 p.m. Eastern, so there will be a little bit of overlap in games this week. And of course, all\u00a0NBA on NBC\u00a0action on Monday will begin with the\u00a0NBA Showtime\u00a0pregame show!<\/p>\n

What to know about the Nuggets vs. Sixers game on Peacock NBA Monday<\/p>\n

On paper, the Nuggets are having a much better season than the Sixers so far. They’ve already cleared the 20-win mark with room to spare, and while they don’t look as good as, say, the Spurs or the Thunder, they’re definitely already in position to be Western Conference playoff contenders. The Sixers, meanwhile, also having a winning record, but it’s a significantly more narrow one. And yet, the Sixers are favored in this matchup. Why?<\/p>\n

Well, there’s one very clear reason: Nikola Jokic is out. The Nuggets’ three-time MVP and seven-time All-Star is down with a knee injury and expected to miss the entire month of January. That means Denver’s without their top scorer, rebounder,\u00a0and\u00a0passer all in one player, and to make things more precarious, Nuggets stars Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon are also working their way back from injury. Murray and Gordon should be good to go by game time, but one slip could mean they’re back on the bench.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That gives the Sixers a notable leg up, and star point guard Tyrese Maxey will be looking to press that advantage. Maxey’s led the Sixers offense so far this season, putting up roughly 30 points a game, and with a starting lineup that also includes big men Paul George and Joel Embiid, Philly’s looking to show up and show out for their first home game of 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n
