{"id":77670,"date":"2026-01-04T16:25:06","date_gmt":"2026-01-04T16:25:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/77670\/"},"modified":"2026-01-04T16:25:06","modified_gmt":"2026-01-04T16:25:06","slug":"downed-wires-put-4000-people-without-power-in-allegheny-county-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/77670\/","title":{"rendered":"Downed wires put 4,000 people without power in Allegheny County \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">BETHEL PARK, Pa.  \u2014 Thousands in Allegheny County lost power due to downed wires. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">West Penn Power\u2019s outage map showed that, initially, around 8 a.m., approximately 4,000 people were without power in Upper St. Clair and Bethel Park. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">By 10:30 a.m., around half of those impacted by the outage got power back. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The Bethel Park Police Department said the widespread outage is due to multiple wires being down. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Several roads are also closed because of the incident, including Bethel Church Road between Drake and Alton, and McMurray Road in front of St. Louise Church. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">All Bethel Park facilities, including the community center, are also closed because of the outage. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Police have not said when roads may reopen.
