Aaron Rodgers\u2019 future is uncertain<\/a>, as Sunday night\u2019s showdown with the Baltimore Ravens could be the final game of his illustrious NFL career. It\u2019s unclear whether the 42-year-old will retire<\/a>, return to the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a>, or try to play somewhere else next year.<\/p>\n

Regardless of what he decides, he\u2019s already managed to leave his mark<\/a> on the Steelers in his one season with the team. He\u2019s provided veteran leadership and mentorship to numerous players, including running back Kenneth Gainwell<\/a> and rookie quarterback Will Howard.<\/p>\n

Howard, 24, hasn\u2019t played at all this season as Pittsburgh\u2019s third-string running back. The Steelers opted for the more experienced Mason Rudolph when Rodgers missed time in November with a wrist injury<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Although Howard hasn\u2019t seen any game action in his first NFL season, he\u2019s still learned a lot<\/a> from one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history and a future Hall of Famer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve made a point of really trying to help out Will because I love him. He\u2019s a great kid and I think he\u2019s got a bright future,\u201d Rodgers said earlier this week<\/a> ahead of his potential final game with Pittsburgh. \u201cThat\u2019s one relationship I really wanted to pour into. I\u2019ve got a great quarterback room. It\u2019s one of the best I\u2019ve ever been around\u2026Will, just so eager and hungry\u2026It\u2019s been a fun group.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rodgers praised Rudolph, too, for his sense of humor and keeping the quarterback room in good spirits.<\/p>\n

Time will tell what Pittsburgh\u2019s future holds after its regular-season finale on Sunday night. If Rodgers retires or leaves in free agency, it will be interesting to see if the Steelers bring in another veteran to replace him or let Howard try to win the starting quarterback job next season.<\/p>\n
