{"id":78499,"date":"2026-01-05T18:12:06","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T18:12:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/78499\/"},"modified":"2026-01-05T18:12:06","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T18:12:06","slug":"mid-penn-bank-completes-another-acquisition-its-third-in-recent-years-lehigh-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/78499\/","title":{"rendered":"Mid Penn bank completes another acquisition, its third in recent years | Lehigh County"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HARRISBURG, Pa.- A bank that has several locations across the 69 News viewing area is starting the new year with a new acquisition under its belt.<\/p>\n<p>Mid Penn Bancorp, Inc., the parent company of Mid Penn Bank, said its purchase of Cumberland Advisors became official on January 1, 2026.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cumber.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Cumberland Advisors<\/a> is an investment advisory firm based in Sarasota, Fla. It had\u00a0about $3.2 billion in assets at the end of 2025, Mid Penn Bancorp said in a news release.\u00a0Cumberland has been merged into a newly formed subsidiary of Mid Penn called Cumberland Advisors, LLC.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the latest in a string of acquisitions for Mid Penn in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>Last September, the company\u00a0said it would acquire the New Jersey-based 1st Colonial Bancorp, Inc. in a cash and stock transaction valued at approximately $101 million.\u00a0The transaction is expected to close late in the first quarter or early in the second quarter of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in 2025, Mid Penn said it had completed its purchase of Bucks County&#8217;s William Penn Bancorporation,\u00a0the parent company of William Penn Bank. The all-stock transaction was valued at approximately $120 million.<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, Mid Penn\u00a0completed its $43.7 million purchase of Brunswick Bancorp, which operated\u00a0Brunswick Bank &amp; Trust in New Jersey&#8217;s Middlesex and Monmouth counties.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/midpennbank.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mid Penn<\/a> is headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It operates 61 locations throughout Pennsylvania and central and southern New Jersey, including South Whitehall Township, Lehigh County; Spring Township, Berks County; and West Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shares of Mid Penn Bancorp (NASDAQ: MPB) were trading at $31.56 at lunchtime on Monday.
