Erie County Sheriff’s Office Chief of Narcotics D.J. Granville has agreed to pay $75,000 in restitution to Erie County after\u00a0crashing his county-owned truck into several parked cars in Buffalo in April 2024.<\/p>\n
Granville\u00a0pleaded\u00a0guilty last year to reckless driving and leaving the scene of a crash.\u00a0He was sentenced to pay a $550 fine and to serve 50 hours of community service.<\/p>\n
Last week, discipline was announced for members of the Buffalo Police Department who were accused of covering up evidence in the incident.\u00a0According to BPD, a lieutenant was demoted to a detective sergeant, and four other officers involved received a range of administrative disciplinary action. The BPD has since called the case closed.<\/p>\n
