BETHLEHEM, Pa. – New details have emerged about a murder-suicide that rocked a Bethlehem neighborhood.<\/p>\n
The community is mourning the loss of two parents, as an investigation into what led up to the murder-suicide continues.<\/p>\n
The Lehigh County Coroner said Sarah Rice, 39, and Greg Johnson, 42, suffered gunshot wounds to the head.<\/p>\n
It happened on 10th Avenue in Bethlehem Friday night.<\/p>\n
Police safely removed children who were in the home at the time.<\/p>\n
Three days after the incident, the couple’s home sits decorated in balloons, candles and toys.<\/p>\n
Bethlehem Police and the Lehigh County District Attorney are investigating.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the community is rallying together to support the three children left behind.<\/p>\n
“Why wouldn’t they? The community outreach was incredible. That word doesn’t even describe it,” said Lorisa Pineda, chapter coordinator of Fostering Hope Northampton. “It’s a situation that we would step in no matter what.”<\/p>\n
The non-profit organization in Easton is helping collect and provide essential items to the family.<\/p>\n
Pineda said the family’s wish list was immediately filled and the community support is overwhelming.<\/p>\n
“There will be so many ongoing needs for children like this,” said Pineda. “You can flood them with things. But it’s an ongoing need. It’s a forever need that boys and girls and teenagers, they’ll always need something.”<\/p>\n
