{"id":78901,"date":"2026-01-06T02:11:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T02:11:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/78901\/"},"modified":"2026-01-06T02:11:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T02:11:07","slug":"pittsburgh-police-officer-injured-in-crash-during-search-for-suspect-wpxi-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/78901\/","title":{"rendered":"Pittsburgh police officer injured in crash during search for suspect \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 A Pittsburgh Police officer was injured in a crash early Monday during a search for a suspect. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The crash happened just after midnight at the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Josephine Street in the city\u2019s South Side Slopes neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The officer lost control of his vehicle and struck a pole when the airbags were deployed. Public safety officials said he was originally unresponsive when the other officers found him, but regained consciousness and was speaking with medics on scene. He was transported to a hospital in stable condition. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">No one else was inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Officials said the officer was searching for a domestic violence suspect who had fled from police. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The Collision Investigation Unit was called to investigate the incident.
