SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) \u2014 An out of this world exhibit is landing in Scranton this week as boxes with \u201cNASA\u201d labels are loaded into the Everhart Museum. <\/p>\n
With an expected opening date of January 14th, the exhibit will feature a scale model of the Hubble Telescope while showcasing its mission in space, according to James Lansing, the museum’s curator. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019ll fill this whole space. It will be colorful, will be interactive, and it\u2019s something I don\u2019t think the museum has had anything like in the past,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
The large-scale exhibit was transported in nearly sixty large boxes, in a truck too large for the museum\u2019s loading entrance, proving a technical challenge when entering the museum. <\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re not going to see this anywhere else, especially in Scranton. They\u2019d have to go to a major city, go to the Natural History Museum in New York. For Scranton, this is a major exhibit,\u201d said Lansing. <\/p>\n

Set-up will take over a week, with work divided between a team from NASA and the Everhart staff.
