According to our business partner PuckPedia<\/a>, the Pittsburgh Penguins will place Egor Zamula<\/a> on waivers Monday for the purpose of terminating his contract. <\/p>\n The Philadelphia Flyers waived Zamula, 25, on Dec. 19 and assigned him to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL. The Penguins acquired the Russian defenseman in exchange for forward Philip Tomasino<\/a> on Dec. 31. The Penguins had also waived Tomasino in November and assigned him to the Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton Penguins. <\/p>\n Sunday, the Penguins suspended Zamula for not reporting to WBS. <\/p>\n Monday, PuckPedia reported the Penguins will terminate Zamula\u2019s contract, which carries a $1.75 million cap hit. PuckPedia also reports that several teams are interested in the defenseman, who has played in 168 NHL games, and he is expected to sign elsewhere in the NHL. <\/p>\n Because Zamula did not report and was suspended, the Penguins will not suffer any salary cap ramifications.
